The Flame Of Patriotism

Hello friends!
I have written this poem as a tribute to the freedom fighters who felt the flame of patriotism in their hearts and devoted their lives to selflessly trying to let their generations see a free India. I salute them. They lost their lives but achieved what their eyes and hearts had always panted for; India free from British rule. Also, their motto was Never Give Up, which I am trying to follow. The title of my poem is The Flame Of Patriotism.
Hope you like it!

The flame of patriotism burns in every soul

It leaps and licks your heart
Consumes your very spirit
As you indulge in anguish and hate,
Watching the land of your forefathers
Snatched away
By white men.
This orange red flame multiplies in you;
The tongues of flame cradle your heart
Your spirit, your soul, your mind and body.
Loads and loads of bravehearts, touched and inspired by patriotism
Have shed their precious, warm blood, given their sweat
To snatch the land of their forefathers
From the pale fingers of the English.
Patriotism, the bravest of warriors, is fierce,
burning passionate love and loyalty to your country;
Her flaming fingers pass over the heads of worthy men and women;
Under her firm, fiery influence, these worthy people
Work selflessly for their country.
I salute them.
