My Grandma

Hi Friend

My new poem...

Long black hair floating down,
A paragon of beauty all around;
The gentlest woman there ever was.

Her skin was softer than moss,
Her hair thick and pretty, full of gloss;
Lovelier than the loveliest, petite and slender
And  having a golden heart full of love so tender;

Oh, granny! Reside in my heart forever,
So that even if evil spirits try to tear us apart,
Part we may never.

Author’s note

This poem is a tribute to my granny, who recently passed away in the month of May; 2014.She was a great woman and a really loving and tender grandmother. She loved me as tenderly as if I were her own child. She was like my second mother and I am still shocked by her death. Dear Granny (my maternal one), I hope you would love this poem. I love you. R.I.P. (Rest In Peace).

Thank you! :)

Oh I am Feeling So Accomplished

Hi Friend

Just wanted to share with you that the renowned newspaper DNA in Mumbai had come up with a unique idea of re-writing the fairytales with portraying the protagonists as an empowered individual and not a victim of circumstances.

I wrote the story of Snow White, and you know what, my story was published in today's DNA edition among the winning entries.

I am feeling so happy, so accomplished. I could not keep my feelings to myself, therefore, I thought of sharing this with you.

Thanks a lot!

The Young Man

Hi Friend

This is my new poem...

Alone, on the high road,
Stood a young man;
His face was pale,
His head was bowed,
And his eyes were wan.
His hair was brown, his eyes were brown,
And they betokened of a frown;
His face looked like a thunder-cloud,
As he stood with head bowed,
There came a sound, sweet, melodious and loud;
As he eagerly straightened himself up to listen,
Out came his little mistress from the woods,
Oh, joy! As she embraced him, too happy to speak for words,
They looked at each other like a pair of lovebirds;
And there ends the story of our lad,
Now as happy as just now he had been lovesick and sad.

Thank you!

Dark Eyes

Hi Friend

This is a li'l serious though...

As I walked in the field,
I saw two large dark eyes,
Eyes that spoke of tender ties,
Peering out o' a sweet little bush;
As I turned sharply to enquire,
Those eyes looked sadly at me,
Telling me plainly
''Oh,me! I am going to sit on a funeral pyre;
My love is lost, my love is lost, my love is lost!''
And through frost, hunger and pain I Iooked at those eyes,

Dark eyes, speaking of tender ties.

Thank you :)

The Brunette Beauty

Hi Friend,

I wrote this poem yesterday.

Long brown curls floating down,
Like a long bubbling stream, all so brown,
A fair forehead beneath the smooth brown hair,
Ah, me! A forehead as fair
as this
Ne'er was seen among mankind.
'Neath the forehead come large grey eyes,
So pretty, sweet, and kind;
And 'tis my faith that eyes like this were
Ne'er beheld by mankind.
Then comes a fair little nose,
That, when looked at so close,
Looks a marvel of beauty;
And 'tis my faith that such a nose was
Ne'er beheld by mankind.
Next comes a little red mouth,
So sweet and rosy;
And, when looked at closely,
It reminds one of a posy.
And, truly, by my heart!
'Tis my faith that such a mouth was

Ne'er beheld by mankind.

I hope you would like my poem. Thank you.

Hi Friend :)
Though this post was written by my mom in her blog--Life As I know It; it was written by me in my school. Please check it for details.
Hi Friend!
I want to share something very precious with you. I’m a proud mother indeed.
Today, my younger daughter Anubhuti who is nine was asked to write a few lines on “Dedication” in her school. She wrote it like as follows. I felt very proud of her, and am sure that even you’ll feel so. Please spare a few moments from your busy schedule for my daughter’s creativity. This is the ‘unedited’ version of what she wrote.
DEDICATION
Q.: What do we mean by Dedication?
A.: “Dedication” is the devotion that we ought to direct toward our work. If we do not focus, we do not achieve our aim. You know there are so many people in this wide world, who have overcome so many obstacles in life. How? They have worked hard for it; devoted themselves utterly to their work. For example, Raymond Clarence Ewry!!! This is what we mean by Dedication.
Q.: Why should we “Dedicate” ourselves to work?
A.: It is impossible for us to achieve anything if we do not dedicate ourselves to our work. If we just slack off how CAN we achieve anything? If we just keep hoping for money and don’t do anything to achieve it? That’s the reason why we should dedicate ourselves to our work.
Q.: How is “Dedication” important to us?
A.: It is like this: Dedication is like a mother to us. She gently helps us to rise even if we are beaten. She gently puts strength and determination into our mind and our body. If we are passionate about sports, then even when we fall ill, we occasionally grab the ball, whether it is volleyball, basketball or football. Why? It is the focus, the dedication. This qualifies that dedication is important to us. It keeps us going.
THANK YOU!!!
Friend, I felt too good to read this small article. Instant, thoughtful, and creative! For those who don’t know about Raymond Clarence Ewry—An American, he was among the most successful Olympians of all time. He contracted polio as a child, and for a short while was dependent on wheelchair. Through hard work, dedication and immense courage, Ewry taught himself to walk and jump. He persistently engaged himself in leg strengthening exercises; eventually defeating his illness.
So how did you like my post? Thank you :)

A Poem on Wildlife Protection

A very essential thing is the protection of wildlife,
To accomplish this we should strive.
Why do I say this?
For all of the extinct wildlife we will miss.
Protecting wildlife, one of the best things’ tis
Lions and Tigers,
Monkeys and Peacocks,
Hyenas and Jaguars too
Are going missing all around you.
Poachers, hunters and bird catchers are on the trail,
Because of these wicked people, animals and birds are getting frail
Kind hearted people, on hearing this, are going pale.
So, friends, let us protect wildlife

For this we must strive.

Love
Anubhuti :)

My Visit to Golden Temple, Amritsar

Hi Friend

I, along with my family visited the historic "Golden Temple" in Amritsar in the state of Punjab, India during March, 2014. I wanted to go to this place since quite some time as I love visiting new places. And this place being a religious cum historic one snatched my attention.

I want to share a secret with you. you know what, I love history. I find few people who 'like' history, let alone who 'love' it. But, my favorite subject is History.

Ya, so I would like to share a few snaps of my visit to Golden Temple with you. Do tell me how did you like them!

Below is the passage that leads to the main temple...Harmandir Sahib Gurudwara. It took us almost one and a half hours to reach this place. The queue was moving at snail's pace. It was around 12.30pm, and the scorching Sun was just above the head. It was extremely hot out there, and the crowd... OMG! I puked thrice... shhh...don't tell this to anyone out there...I am sharing this with you, OK!

This is the main building. It is plated with Gold. It is an awesome place.

This is the beautiful chandelier. I love it, and it's very refreshing to see such beauty.

This picture shows the hand written GuruGranth Sahib. It's a huge book. We were lucky to have a glimpse of this holy book.

The magnificent gold plated ceiling with beautifully carved designs was breathtaking.

This is also the same ceiling from a different angle.

The pond around the Harmandir sahib is serene. It gives a pure reflection of Harmandir Sahib. The clouds above are beautiful.

As we came out of The Harmandir Sahib, we stopped at this place to have a look at the pretty fish swimming in the pond.

This is a beautiful pure white clock tower in the premises of the Harmandir Sahib. We had langar (holy food) over here.

The Gold is shining bright.

I hope you like my snaps.

Love
Anubhuti
