My Visit to Golden Temple, Amritsar

Hi Friend

I, along with my family visited the historic "Golden Temple" in Amritsar in the state of Punjab, India during March, 2014. I wanted to go to this place since quite some time as I love visiting new places. And this place being a religious cum historic one snatched my attention.

I want to share a secret with you. you know what, I love history. I find few people who 'like' history, let alone who 'love' it. But, my favorite subject is History.

Ya, so I would like to share a few snaps of my visit to Golden Temple with you. Do tell me how did you like them!

Below is the passage that leads to the main temple...Harmandir Sahib Gurudwara. It took us almost one and a half hours to reach this place. The queue was moving at snail's pace. It was around 12.30pm, and the scorching Sun was just above the head. It was extremely hot out there, and the crowd... OMG! I puked thrice... shhh...don't tell this to anyone out there...I am sharing this with you, OK!

This is the main building. It is plated with Gold. It is an awesome place.

This is the beautiful chandelier. I love it, and it's very refreshing to see such beauty.

This picture shows the hand written GuruGranth Sahib. It's a huge book. We were lucky to have a glimpse of this holy book.

The magnificent gold plated ceiling with beautifully carved designs was breathtaking.

This is also the same ceiling from a different angle.

The pond around the Harmandir sahib is serene. It gives a pure reflection of Harmandir Sahib. The clouds above are beautiful.

As we came out of The Harmandir Sahib, we stopped at this place to have a look at the pretty fish swimming in the pond.

This is a beautiful pure white clock tower in the premises of the Harmandir Sahib. We had langar (holy food) over here.

The Gold is shining bright.

I hope you like my snaps.

Love
Anubhuti
